The Convention Center of the Third Millennium

In October 2008, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco became one of the first European convention centers to obtain the ISO 14001 environmental management certification. Right from the start, the architects addressed environmental issues in the design of the center’s insulation, energy and air conditioning.

It is an engineering miracle built on land reclaimed from the sea; 500 cubic meters of water are pumped per hour, generating energy to heat and cool the building, without damaging sea life. Since its certification, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco has launched a new “Green Event” offer and its dedicated Green Team is now able to propose tailor-made solutions for organizers wishing to limit the environmental footprint of their event. The daylight-filled building on the sea has a stunning glass entrance and 2 convention restaurants, each seating 500. Its 1,800-seat auditorium with a 10,925 sq. ft. stage and a balcony for 500 is used for ballet and opera performances, as well as meetings, and has become a new center of culture for the Principality. Two other auditoriums seat 800 and 400.There are 23 breakout rooms for 10 to 400 and 2 large exhibition halls with various stage possibilities. The larger one (45,200 sq. ft.) includes a pillar free area of 26,911 sq. ft., with a 23-ft. ceiling and space for up to 200 trade show booths. The other, designed for art exhibitions and galas, can hold 155 booths (and they can be joined). By using the latest technologies and proposing a wide range of products and services, the Grimaldi Forum Monaco offers a comfort unequalled by any other venue in Southern Europe for the hosting of impressive international events. Most of the 2,500 first-class and deluxe hotel rooms are within walking distance and shuttles are rarely needed.
